BECOME a Francis Greenway expert on a car tour on Saturday, May 6.
Historians Ian Jack and Jan Barkley-Jack are running the tour for Hawkesbury Historical Society, looking at the works of the ex-convict and colonial civil architect.
While he died in obscurity, his legacy of graceful buildings lives on in Windsor and Liverpool.
The tour takes in the site of the large wharf off Thompson Square redesigned by Greenway in 1816, and detailed inspections of the interiors of St Matthew’s Anglican Church, the church rectory and stables, Windsor Courthouse and St Luke’s Anglican Church, Liverpool.
The tour will begin at 9.45am in Thompson Square, Windsor and end at 4pm at St Luke’s at Liverpool.
Cost is $35 per person, $60 per family. Bookings essential at email secretaryhawkesburyhistory@gmail.com or ring 9659 4103.
