FOUR men have been charged with various offences after an Anzac Day brawl at South Windsor.
Hawkesbury crime manager Detective Inspector Gavin Rattenbury said at 3.15pm two groups of men were involved in an altercation at a South Windsor club.
They were evicted out onto Rifle Range Road.
“One group appears to have left on foot and another in a vehicle,” he said.
“Around 4pm they came across each other in Mileham Street. There was a further altercation. One of the occupants of the vehicle produced a shortened firearm and fired one shot at the other group of males. No person was injured.”
He said police arrived shortly after and four men were arrested and taken to Windsor Police Station.
“The firearm was located at the scene and a 21-year-old Windsor man was charged with discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, two counts of using a firearm to threaten, possessing a prohibited firearm and a number of assault offences,” he said.
The man was refused bail and will appear at Penrith Local Court on May 18.
Three other men aged 21, 22 and 28 were charged with both assault and affray. Their townships were not available when the Gazette rang.
Det. Insp. Rattenbury said the scene on Mileham Street was forensically examined and a number of items were seized.
