RMS contractors DownerMouchel will be trimming trees and removing dead ones along Bells Line of Road at Bilpin on weekdays over the next couple of months.
The dangerous state of some trees along the road was brought up with Hawkesbury MP Dominic Perrottet by Bilpin community group Dangerous Road Action Group (DRAG) when they were discussing the issues they had with recent roadworks carried out by RMS contractors.
As a result, DownerMouchel sent a letter to residents last week outlining the scope of the upcoming work.
“We will be removing 28 dead pine trees from 50m west of Patterson’s Range Fire trail to 150m west of Tadrosse Lane, Bilpin,” the letter said.
“We will also be trimming trees eastbound and westbound along Bells Line of Road from the Bilpin Fruit Bowl to Wolka Road.
“We will be on site for 26 shifts from Monday, May 1 to Friday, June, 30 excluding public holidays, weather permitting. Our work hours will be between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
“We will continue to keep the community and stakeholders updated about work on Bells Line of Road.”
They said there will be lane closures at times so drivers should look out for signs. To find out more call 1800 332 660 or email enquiries_nsw@downermouchel.com.
