IT IS nearly that time of year again for the Hawkesbury Hospital Auxiliary’s charity golf day at Windsor Golf Club.
There will be plenty of generosity at the golf club on Thursday, May 18, when the charity day is hosted.
For over a decade now, the auxiliary has hosted an annual charity day to raise funds for the Hawkesbury Hospital.
This year, all funds raised will go toward the purchase of brand new Hill-Rom 900 medical beds, which cost $10,000 each.
One of the organisers, Pam Galloway, said the auxiliary usually raised about $100,000 in a year for the hospital.
As for the charity day, Mrs Galloway said there usually about $10,000 was raised for the hospital.
She said she had been involved with the auxiliary for 20 years as a volunteer.
“I go around the wards, selling newspapers, fixing up flowers and chatting to patients,” she said.
Mrs Galloway said she always enjoyed the charity day.
“I love playing golf and it is a fun day out for everybody,” she said.
“We play a Las Vegas Ambrose so it won’t be too serious.
“We get a lot of people from outside the club who come and play.”
Mrs Galloway said there would be a raffle and charity auction to help raise funds.
She said any businesses which were willing to donate something for the raffle or charity auction could get in touch with the auxiliary.
Tickets are $80 per person, which includes breakfast and lunch.
