Where to go on Anzac Day

There will be plenty of opportunity to pay your respects to past and present armed service members this Anzac Day.

St Marys and Rooty Hill RSL sub-branches will hold a number of events to commemorate the efforts of Australian and New Zealand soldiers in conflict.

In St Marys the annual community march will take place on Sunday, April 23. Kicking off at 2.30pm, locals will march from Coachman’s Park to Victoria Park, where a formal service will be held.

The dawn service will start at 5am outside the sub-branch’s headquarters in the car park of St Marys RSL Club. A display from local high schools will feature in the service, and a breakfast will be held at the club afterwards.

Rooty Hill RSL Sub-branch’s men’s smoko dinner will return on Friday, April 21. Tickets are $30 from the RSL club.

The Sunday service will also start at 2.30pm in front of the club on the corner of North Parade and Westminster Avenue.

On Anzac Day, the dawn service will start with a march from the corner of Minchinbury and Reynell streets, Eastern Creek to Pinegrove Memorial Park at 5am.
