THE spectacular building and grounds of St John of God Hospital at North Richmond was the venue for a recent afternoon of jazz from Hawkesbury Jazz Club.
The event on Saturday, March 25 also included a beautiful high tea, and after days of rain the clouds parted and the band performed “Nothing but Blue Skies”.
St John of God Richmond CEO Steve Brooker welcomed guests, who included Mayor Mary Lyons-Buckett and Macquarie MP Susan Templeman, and outlined the range of mental health treatment provided, particularly in the areas of post traumatic stress disorder, addictions, mood disorders and older adult mental health.
Mayor Lyons-Buckett encouraged listeners to speak about mental health and raise awareness to decrease stigma. Ms Templeman emphasised how important the hospital’s services were.
One delighted guest commented “thank you so much St John of God, the music was divine and the food amazing – looking forward to the next one!”.
