Hassall Grove man punctures front tyres in M4 drink-driving incident

A Hassall Grove man was charged with high range drink-driving after he blew nearly four times the legal limit following an incident in Eastern Creek.

The man, 37, allegedly crashed into a median strip on the M4 on Friday night, puncturing both front tyres in the process.

He continued to drive the car a short distance before pulling over into the car park of a fast food store, according to police.

Officers were called to the scene and carried out an initial breath test, which returned a positive result.

The man was taken to Blacktown Police Station where blew a blood alcohol reading of 0.194.

The legal blood alcohol limit for a fully licenced driver is 0.05.

Police said the man will face Blacktown Local Court on April 25.
