Man charged for house fires in Blackett

An investigation into house fires in the Mount Druitt area has seen a man charged for a second time.

The man, 47, will face court after being charged with nine offences relating to a two separate house fires in Boldrewood Road, Blackett in July and November 2015.

He was also charged last year over setting a house on fire in Langley Place, Blackett on September 22, 2016

About 20 firefighters were called to battle the blaze. No one was injured.

Police charged the man with damaging a property by fire and destroying property for gain in November.

Following the incident Strike Force Larrabee was established to investigate a series of house fires in the area between 2015 and 2016.

Inquiries led police to this month charge the same man for setting fire to and breaking in to the homes on Boldrewood Road.

The charges included three counts of damaging a property by fire, three counts of break and enter intend to commit serious indictable offence, two counts destroying property for gain and entering private property without permission.

The man is due to front Mount Druitt Local Court on Friday.
