Seniors looking for a day out with friends may have found their perfect match in The Hills Day Club.
The Seven Hills-based social group has been recognised by the Department of Veteran Affairs as one of the top ten Day Clubs in Australia, and was recently commended by Seven Hills MP Mark Taylor.
Mr Taylor visited the group this week to present them with a NSW Local Seniors Achievement Award.
“These awards are the community’s way of saying ‘thank you’ to local seniors for their enthusiasm and commitment to their community,” he said.
“I commend today’s recipients for demonstrating the diversity of talent, generosity of spirit and limitless energy of seniors in our community.”
The Hills Day Club provides opportunities for the aged, people with disabilities, carers and volunteers to come together and maintain regular social contact.
They meet weekly to enjoy games, entertainment including singers and comedians, sports, fitness, arts and craft, and information sessions.
Each fun-filled day costs just $5 and a courtesy bus is available for those who don’t drive.
To join in, you must be a member of Seven Hills-Toongabbie RSL.
The group meets every Monday from 9am to 1pm at Seven Hills Youth Club, 58 Best Road.
