The World Boxing Associations rankings are in and Hawkesburys own Joel Brunker is back in the top 10.
Brunker, who sits at number 10 in the featherweight division, is currently in Melbourne preparing for his next bout in the southern state on March 17.
He said he is happy to be back in the world top ten rankings but has his eyes set firmly on the top of the ladder.
“I would much prefer to be sitting where I was around two or three on the ladder, but it’s good to be back in the rankings,” Brunker said,
Brunker will spend the next two weeks training in Melbourne for his March fight, which will be held at Melbourne Pavillion.
He said he didn’t know a hell of a lot about his Indonesian opponent, only that he was a strong boxer and was very durable.
The fight will be his first since a securing a show stopping win in October to Thai fighter Soranarai Sor Bangkhru. Brunker landed a heavy body shot, and stopped the fight in the first 40 seconds of the first round.
