For the first time in its long history this year’s Hawkesbury Show will feature a competition for young Lego enthusiasts.
There will be three categories and entrants are encouraged to tap into their creativity.
There is not set theme.
Category 1 is Under 6 Duplo; category 2 is Under 9 Standard Lego; and category 3 is Under 12 Standard Lego (age in each category will be taken at May 5, 2017).
Entrants must submit an original design or creation – no form kits – and the entry must be fixed onto a Lego board (38cm by 38cm for Duplo and 32cm by 32 cm for Lego).
The entries must not contain loose parts nor exceed 30cm in height.
The first 15 entries in each class will be accepted and no more than one entry per child will be accepted.
More entries may be accepted but it will be at the judges discretion.
Only Lego branded items will be accepted – no generic brands.
Encouragement awards will be handed out in each category as with a Best Exhibit in Lego ribbon and prize card.
Entries are open now and forms are available at the Hawkesbury Show office in Racecourse Road, Clarendon.
Each entry costs $2 and they can be lodged at the office or via mail to: PO Box 382, Richmond, 2753.
Entries close at 4pm on Thursday, April 21.
Physical entries must be delivered to the show site between 2pm and 7pm on Tuesday, May 2, for judging on May 3.
