Saturday’s Sydney Derby win was a great night for us at the Wanderers.
I think we owed the fans a big performance after last week, so it was good to get the monkey off the back and win our first game at ANZ Stadium this season, and of course defeating Sydney FC for the first time.
Sydney FC have been flying all year. We managed to keep them scoreless in the last Derby and on Saturday we managed to go one better this time.
We’re going to need all hands on deck in the coming weeks with our busy schedule of games.

As a defender it’s always good to keep a clean sheet because you give yourself a great chance of winning and we defended really well as a team and some of our last ditch challenges were excellent.
We can’t get too carried away though. We had our first Asian Champions League group stage game against Urawa Red Diamonds last night at Campbelltown Stadium.
Everyone has been pumped for the champions league. I personally have wanted to test myself against Asia’s best players.
We’re going to need all hands on deck in the coming weeks with our busy schedule of games but it’s a challenge we’re all looking forward to.
