MEMBER for Riverstone Kevin Conolly said Mike Baird’s resignation as Premier of NSW was a shame.
Mr Baird said he wanted to spend more time with his family, specifically to help his parents and sister through various medical ailments they had.
Mr Conolly said Mr Baird had always been a good leader.
“It's a shame, I'm disappointed as he's been such a good leader for NSW,” he said.
“I have no doubt the government remains committed to the policies we took to the election and we'll continue to deliver the infrastructure and services that the people of NSW need."
Mr Conolly would not be drawn on who the next Premier would be.
He said it was a matter he would have to discuss with his colleagues.
Member for Hawkesbury Dominic Perrottet has been contacted for comment, and has yet to get back to the Gazette, although did post this on Twitter.
