HAWKESBURY Race Club will waive their entry fee in exchange for a gold coin donated to Ronald McDonald House Charity at the club’s meeting on Wednesday, January 25.
The first race back at the club will see fund raising activities for the Ronald McDonald House Charity, which gives a home to families who need to travel long distances because of medical conditions.
There will be raffles and auctions at the race track to raise money for the charity.
Along with that, there will be plenty on for the kids including rides, show bags and activities, while for the adults, there will be 10 different food trucks.
“We are delighted to be able to host McFun Day at our first race meeting for 2017, for such a worthy cause as the Nepean Family Room at Ronald McDonald House, Westmead,” Rudolph said.
Ian and Kathryn Garton, who runs nine McDonalds franchises in the Hawkesbury and Penrith are sponsoring the event through their Garton group business.
“Any parent who has ever had an unwell new born baby knows the worry and helplessness that comes with not only the medical and care worries, but the other siblings and financial costs associated with the experience,” said Mr Garton.
“My wife and I have been involved with the Nepean Family Room run by Ronald McDonald House since the conception of the planning stage. We see the importance and know first-hand that having a comfortable, clean facility nearby is one less worry to endure in an already critical time.”
The gates will open at 11am.
