With the premise of sharing with locals the wonders of local produce, chef Martin Boetz is preparing to host three special curry nights at his Cooks Co-op Event Shed.
The shed, located on West Portland Road, Sackville, overlooking the Hawkesbury River, offers guests a unique dining experience with its amazing rural appeal.
Boetz is former executive chef of the popular Longrain restaurant.
Needless to say, guests to the curry nights, the first of which will be held on January 21, are in for a real treat.
“I want to create a night for the local people of the Hawkesbury to come together, share a curry and celebrate the amazing produce we have here on our doorstop,” Boetz said.
Visitors to the first event will be treated to a main course of rich red curry Angus beef followed by poached peaches and vanilla tapioca.
The feast will be served at twilight.
“I love living in the Hawkesbury and I love our community, so the Event Shed dining will be communal to encourage that sense of us all coming together to eat great food and enjoy each other’s company,” Boetz said.
Two other nights have been planned for February 11 and March 11.
Entry to each of the boutique style dining experiences is $80 per person for the two-course meal. The events are BYO.
There will be a vegetarian option available on each of the nights.
Last year, Boetz collaborated with his friends, popular chefs, Colin Fasnidge (My Kitchen Rules), Christine Manfield, Alex Herbert and Belinda Jeffery, in sell-lout themed lunch events that became popular with foodies and reviewers alike.
The 2017 Winter and Spring series will be announced in February.
Boetz has been part of the Australian food scene for more than 20 years.
His vision of chefs having influence and control over their produce from seedling, right through to the diner's plate is coming to life through the Cooks Co-op.
The project is focused on sustainable farming, building relationships with fellow farms and food producers throughout the Hawkesbury and sharing the ideals of nurturing, education and promotion of quality chef grade produce.
