Today marks the anniversary of the death of Detective Inspector Bryson Anderson VA who was tragically killed on duty on December 6, 2012.
Det Insp. Anderson was killed while allegedly trying to resolve a neighbour dispute at a property in Oakville.
He was the second police officer to die in the line of duty while serving the Hawkesbury community in over 180 years.
This time last year NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione joined Bryson’s wife Donna and children Darcy, Olivia and Cain before a packed room of police officers, friends and family for a ceremony to honour his service to the community.
The family unveiled a board displaying the recipients of the Bryson Anderson police Officer of the Year award, the naming of the room itself and a huge framed photo of Bryson during his time spent with Hawkesbury Local Area Command.
May he rest easy.
