STUDENTS at St Monica’s in Richmond had a thrill on Monday after a visit from Olympic gold medal winner Chloe Esposito.
The gold medal winner is the cousin of Savannah, Aidan and Lachlan Esposito, who all attend the school.
St Monica’s principal Cameron Lievore said it was great to have her visit.
“Chloe spoke to the children about her experience at the Olympics,” he said.
“She spoke at length about the importance of working hard and preserving to achieve her goals.
“I think what the kids got out of it was the need to aim high, have a dream and enjoy yourself.”
She spoke at assembly for about 40 minutes according to Mr Lievore.
Esposito won a gold medal in Brazil in the modern pentathlon.
She finished with an Olympic record of 1372 points in winning the gold medal, in what was a shock result.
