THE team at CarNet Western Sydney raised over $9000 for Levi Douglass and his family, to help cover brain tumour treatment for the six year old.
CarNet, based in McGraths Hill, donated $100 from the sale of every fixed price vehicle during September to Levi and his family.
They also donated $50 (through their finance team, CP Money) for every finance deal they signed during the same month, and held a number of sausage sizzles during which they took donations.
All up, they raised $9040.20, which will be put towards six weeks of targetted radiotherapy for Levi, at Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick.
Levi suffers from craniopharyngioma, and has already undergone a number of operations to ‘debulk’ his brain tumour, which is wrapped around his pituitary gland.
CarNet general manager Morgan McCulloch said the organisation was compelled to help after hearing Levi’s story from a staff member.
“The staff here have young families and we’re a family-owned business. No one wants to have their kids go through that,” Mr McCulloch told the Gazette.
“It cost us a little, but will hopefully give him a lot.”
Levi’s parents, Allison and Josh, accepted the funds from the CarNet team during an event at the store.
“Levi had a little ride around in our golf buggy and had a little smile on his face. I hope it brightened his day a little bit,” said Mr McCulloch.
