WISEMANS Ferry Bowling Club has won the annual Hawkesbury Shield competition.
The tournament was hosted at Wisemans Ferry, with Richmond, Windsor and Pitt Town coming up for it.
Wisemans Ferry beat Pitt Town, the previous winners, six points to five.
Wisemans Ferry bowls secretary John Marincic said it was a thoroughly enjoyable day.
“A great time was had by all. The game was played in a great spirit,” he said.
“I take my hat off to all the clubs for playing the game in the right way.”
Marincic said the club members were stoked with the win, and they celebrated that night, and were still buzzing for days afterwards.
“It was a perfect night, all the clubs get on so well with each other,” he said.
The tournament had two teams of four bowlers each. The Wisemans Ferry bowlers were: Shane Davis, Trevor McMahon, Barry Roberts (bowls president), Dennis Perkins, Allan Munro, Terry Gillespie, David Dodge and Scott Wills.
Steve Cunneen was the reserve bowler, while Steve Rossiter, Vikki Wilson and Daniel Thompson helped behind the scenes.
