Third Avenue development plan unveiled

A developer has unveiled their plans for the latest high-rise residential building coming to Third Avenue, Blacktown.

Set to stand at 16 storeys and feature 143 apartments, the new development will dwarf existing buildings outside of the city centre.

5 Units is the company behind the Vision at Blacktown building, which is due for completion in 2020.

The developers have previously built in Fairfield and Liverpool, with a focus on affordability for young families. This will be their first Blacktown construction.

The project will feature a childcare centre and medical centre as well as ground-level retail space, to cater for young families.

Liverpool-based firm CIR Construction has been tasked with bringing the design to life.

“Their vision was to provide a lifestyle of convenience and affordable quality for young working families,” CIR Construction spokeswoman Ruth Matos said.

“Vision is in the heart of the Blacktown CBD where there are several apartment developments underway but the growing population is serviced by a limited number of existing childcare centres. This childcare centre will cater for up to 150 children from zero to five years.”

There will be a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments to cater for homeowners and investors. The one bedroom apartments priced between $450,000 and $525,000, two bedroom apartments from $555,000 to $715,000, and three bedroom apartments between $695,000 and $795,000.

Colliers International residential project marketing director David Chittenden said there is strong demand for apartment living in Blacktown thanks to the city’s public transport links and road access.

“We’re seeing that whilst young families are governed by affordability, they are also reconsidering the traditional backyard for this CBD lifestyle convenience,” Mr Chittenden said.

“With the significant infrastructure investment planned over the coming years, Blacktown’s city centre will provide an even more attractive environment to people to call home and for businesses to invest in. Blacktown is going to be the CBD of the thriving north-west area.”
