NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione will join hundreds of officers including some from the Hawkesbury at the NSW Police Wall of Remembrance in The Domain today for a service to honour fallen police.
NSW Premier Mike Baird, NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Justice and Police, Troy Grant, The Honourable Justice Margaret Beazley, AO, Administrator of the State, Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Michael Daley, and other distinguished guests will also join the Commissioner at the service.
Police from Hawkesbury Local Area Command will participate in the ceremony with staff performing important functions including the Aide-De-Camp to the Commissioner of Police, Protocol Duties and as part of the marching contingent.
Police Remembrance Day commemorates the service and sacrifice of 254 members of the NSW Police Force who have lost their lives in the line of duty since the formation of the NSW Police Force in 1862.
