A critical incident investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in South Windsor.
About 2pm on Tuesday, police were investigating a report of alleged domestic violence when they were called to Fairey Road, South Windsor following reports of a man in a distraught condition sitting in a motor vehicle.
As police entered Fairey Road, a motor vehicle accelerated away from them and a short distance later struck a tree.
NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended and treated the man who passed away at the scene.
No other persons were injured as a result of this incident.
A Critical Incident Investigation Team from the North West Metropolitan Region will investigate the circumstances of the man’s death and prepare a report for the Coroner.
