Boasting a packed program of entertainment and events for folk of all ages, the coming Putty Valley Bush Fair is not to be missed.
The event will be held at Putty Hall on Sunday, October 2, starting at 10am.
There will be amusements for young visitors, including jumping castles and an appearance by Sparkles the Clown, and an “antiques roadshow” for more mature visitors, compered by Richmond antiquarian Allan Chipperfield.
Mr Chipperfield will be able to shed light on the worth of those special pieces that have been in the family for generations.
Singer Nicole Hulett will offer the crowd some country tracks, while the Bowen and Clare Bush Band will serve up some catchy and energetic favourites.
Glen Cuthbert will serve as MC on the day. As well as introducing the performers he will also host the talent quest, which is open to singers, instrumentalists, comedians and other performers.
A first prize of $50 will be handed to the junior winner. The senior winner will receive $75.
Local timber men will demonstrate log splitting, with the splits being auctioned off along with other rural products by auctioneer Geoff King.
Experts in landcare, pasture management, weed and pest control on properties will also be on site throughout the event.
A wealth of native and exotic plants will be on sale, some propagated by Putty Landcare’s Carol Gibson.
Putty Fire Brigade will present a mock fire control program, showing how a variety of equipment is used..
They will also provide information about First Responder Procedures when attending accidents and delivering first response assistance.
There will also be raffles of Stihl Gardening tols, meat and vegie trays, wines and olives.
Ascella Organic Wines will hold a wine tasting and offer sales of their superb organic wines.
Putty Marketplace will have a range of new and pre-loved items, books galore and a nice selection of delicious jams and pickles from Putty cooks.
Of course there will also be a wide range of refreshments on offer from Putty Cafe, Firey’s BBQ and Putty Bar.
