THE Hawkesbury’s Naomi Stalenberg has been given a contract extension by the Sydney Thunder women’s team.
Stalenberg played every match of the inaugural Women’s Big Bash League last season, and eventually made an Australian Twenty-20 debut thanks to good form.
Stalenberg and the Thunder won the first season, and Stalenberg said she was very happy to keep playing with the team.
“To win the first season of the WBBL was amazing,” said Stalenberg.
“I’m a loyal person so it’s going to take a lot for me to leave the team. I was pretty happy to be re-signed.
“The WBBL gave me the chance to bat up the order and it helped get my name out there and really helped me get into the Australian side.
“It’s really good to have sponsors across both teams, it’s great to see that they value the women as good ambassadors for the club.”
The Sydney Thunder’s first game of the season will be played on December 10 against the Melbourne Stars.
