NOVELIST, short story writer and poet Roald Dahl would turn 100 today.
The famed children’s author was born in Wales in 1916. He is famous for books including The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda and The Witches.
Goldfields Library Corporation programs and events coordinator Tammy Higgs said Dahl was a storytelling legend.
“His fabulous stories have been so well loved for several generations and will continue to be so for many more,” she said.
“They are consistently among the highest number of loans in our junior fiction collections.
“There is such a lot to celebrate about 100 years of Roald Dahl.”
