THERE were plenty of Hawkesbury football teams playing finals over the weekend, and one club, Colo, had 12 teams play off.
Indeed, in the under-14 girls division one, both grand finalists were from the same club.
Colo Black took on Colo White, with Colo Black emerging victorious.
The team’s coach Gary Bell said it was an odd situation the teams found themselves in.
He said his team would now play in Football NSW’s Champions of Champions tournament, which starts next month.
Colo’s administrator Angela Hall said it was nice to see so many teams from her club contest the finals.
“The atmosphere was great. It is all about fun. All the teams went through and had a fantastic weekend,” she said.
“We just wanted to see the kids smiling at the end of the game and we got what we wanted.”
Colo had four teams win grand finals, with another eight finishing runners-up.
