In a career than now extends past the four decade mark, American rockers Kiss earned a name for themselves based on combining scorching guitar-driven sound combined with breath-taking theatrics.
Needless to say, their following – the Kiss Army – was and continues to be, extremely passionate.
Four such devotees, have taken their love of the band a step beyond that of the usual fan and have created their own touring tribute to the mighty ones.
Kisstory – The Australian Kiss Tribute was formed in Newcastle in 2012.
Since that time they have found themselves in hot demand around the country.
On Saturday, September 10, they will bring their two-hour show to Windsor Leagues Club.
Just like the real thing, Kisstory promise to bring to the stage not only the classic music but also a healthy chunk of the visual spectacle that is a live Kiss show.
Of course, the pyro may not be as elaborate, but the make-up, costuming and sound is as close to the real Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter as can be.
The band members – Wayne Willoughby, Lee Rolfe, Evan Hotchkies and Chris Byfield – bring years of experience to the band and each share a common bond, a real passion for the music of Kiss.
So much is their love of the group, that they take the business of sonic recreation extremely serious.
They even boast customised guitars, in keeping with the real band, to assure an authentic experience for their audience.
Before they even considered stepping onto the stage, each of the players spent hours rehearsing not only the music, but stepping onto a stage in seven inch platform heels.
Further testament to their commitment, is the fact that it takes hours of preparation getting ready for the gigs themselves – from the creation of the stage, to the application of the trademark make-up.
When they storm the Windsor Leagues stage, expect to hear renditions of classics including Rock And Roll All Nite, Shout It Out Loud and of course, I Was Made For Lovin’ You.
The show starts at 8pm.
