The Hawkesbury Bush Fire Management Committee (BFMC) is inviting members of the public to comment on the latest Bush Fire Risk Management Plan (BFRMP) for the area.
Hawkesbury BMFC chairperson Craig Burley says that the Bush Fire Risk Management Plan is a comprehensive document that describes the level of bush fire risk across the Hawkesbury and proposes strategies to mitigate that risk to the community.
“This is an important document that aims to protect our community and assets,” Mr Burley said.
“Ways to minimize these risks may directly affect you and your property, and everyone should take the opportunity to have a look at the plan to ensure that their views are addressed.”
The community are now invited to comment on the Draft Hawkesbury Bush Fire Risk Management Plan, on public exhibition from Wednesday, July 27 until Tuesday September 6.
The Draft BFRMP is on display at the Hawkesbury City Council Chambers and the Hawkesbury Fire Control Centre.
Written submissions on the draft BFRMP can be addressed to the executive officer by email at hawkesbury@rfs.nsw.gov.au, or by post to Hawkesbury Fire Control Centre.
