PITT Town's Sharon Slater took out the grand prix event at Sydney Showjumping Club’s Winter Championships over July 16 and 17.
Slater and her horse CP Aprilla took out the main event on Sunday.
“It was nice to win at your local event. The club have worked very hard there, the club recently was named the club of year year and we're quite proud to have that in our backyard,” she said.
“We had rain on Saturday, which was going to make it challenging on Sunday but the club worked really hard with the roller to keep the ground as good as it could be.
“We ended up having a beautiful day on Sunday and there were quite a few spectators.”
Slater said her horse also won the grand prix event in the NSW Indoor Championships at Tamworth recently.
The club hosted 1360 events over the weekend at its grounds at Clarendon.
Clair Watkinson had to go to hospital for a suspected broken wrist, but the event was otherwise injury free according to the club’s publicity officer Christine Johnson.
Slater said with the winter championships out of the way, most riders were turning their attention to the state championships in August and the Australian championships in September.
She said she planned to attend both.
