Are you caring for young children and feel isolated in your parenting role?
Parenting is a very demanding job and people come to Parent Connect for the company and laughs for all sorts of reasons. You may be new to the Hawkesbury or have recently become a new parent, or live a long way from family.
You may need a short break from the day to day demands of caring for young children and want some adult company. Or you may have recently separated, or just need to get out of the house for a while.
Parent Connect group gives parents or carers the chance to meet other parents and carers and build friendships that can lead to firm support networks over time. You’ll also receive information about other community parenting activities in the area.
And it’s not just fun and company that’s offered. The group also discusses topics of interest to parents and fun activities such as pampering and occasional cooking sessions. Children gain confidence through making new friends with other children as they participate in activities run by Mobile Minders in an adjacent hall to the group room.
Parent Connect is facilitated by a family worker to help new participants blend easily into the group. You can be sure you will be made to feel welcome.
The group will operate in Richmond Community Services building on West Market Street, Richmond, from 10am-12noon fortnightly on Mondays during school terms. There’s free childcare provided through Hawkesbury Community Outreach.
