STREETON Lookout in Freemans Reach has been given a facelift, thanks to the hard work of some local Rotarians.
Members of the Rotary Club of Windsor have been busy restoring the Terrace Road site, using funding and assistance provided by the Hawkesbury City Council.
The lookout now has concrete pathways in place of the previous paths that were deteriorating, as well as repaired granite pathways, a new bin enclosure, new signage, and a new water tap.
The area has also been landscaped with plants supplied by Hawkesbury Community Nursery.
The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Kim Ford, joined Rotarians and Hawkesbury MP Dominic Perrottet at Streeton Lookout to recognise the input of the Rotarians who worked on the project.
“Seeing the upgrade of this lookout today, it is a great example of our community partnership with Windsor Rotary and a great example of their commitment to our region,” Mayor Ford said.
“Council will continue to work with the Rotary Club to carry out further development to the site.
Rotary Club of Windsor President, Terry Munsey, said Rotary would continue to make local areas better for tourism, in collaboration with Council.
“Windsor Rotary continues to have an excellent relationship with Council and this will be only one of many projects that we will do in future with Council,” Mr Munsey said.
Streeton Lookout is a popular site for visitors and locals, providing views across the Hawkesbury River and Richmond lowlands.
