Service for landings on D-Day Jun 6

RICHMOND RSL Sub-branch will commemorate the anniversary of the D-Day landings on the Normandy coast at the War Memorial, Richmond Park, on Monday, June 6 at 10am. More than 3000 members of the Australian armed forces took part with around 2500 serving in the RAAF or RAF squadrons. RAAF No. 453 Squadron, one of the first allied units to operate in France, has a detachment at Richmond now. Around 500 Australian Navy members served with members of the Royal Navy.
