Witches, whitelighters, demons and magical powers are some of the things you could expect on Aaron Spelling’s popular 90s program Charmed.
Brian Krause is best known for his portrayal of Whitelighter Leo Wyatt on the show. He is occasionally seen teleporting from realm to realm.
He trained at The Actors Workshop in Laguna for five years before he broke through landing the lead role in Return to the Blue Lagoon opposite actress Milla Jovovich. From there he would star in the Stephen King original film Sleepwalkers, directed by Mick Garris. After eight seasons of Charmed Krause has had many guest spots on various shows, from Madmen to CSI Miami and Castle.
This June Krause will teleport his way down under for Sydney’s popular Supanova Pop Culture Expo.
The expo began in Sydney in 2002 and is a completely home-grown Australian production featuring sci-fi, comic books, anime, manga, games, cosplay and all things fantasy.
Krause said although he’s an uneasy flyer, he is looking forward to the event.
“I haven’t done conventions for years but I absolutely love and appreciate the interaction with the fans and hearing their stories,” he explained.
Most recently Krause has spent his time behind the camera producing and directing a docudrama about homelessness in America.
He said he stumbled into acting because of bullying.
“Being bullied got me where I am today. There was a kid who bullied me in middle school and I had to change classes so that there was an exit door near my last class so I could run out of it at the end of the day and run home,” he added.
“The class that was right there was drama. I started trying it out and I was good at it. I did some workshops in high school and that’s when I knew I wanted to keep doing it.”
He said his favourite thing about starring on Charmed was the fact he was doing what he loved – acting. “I was acting and doing what I loved to do with some of the greatest people in my life,” he said.
