They are private conversations that range from panicking police, ice rage, innocence, guns in dreams and murder.
Over the phone from a maximum security prison, accused killer Glen McNamara speaks to his daughters, musing over his case and protesting his innocence.
Mr McNamara and former detective Roger Rogerson are charged with killing university student Jamie Gao inside a southern Sydney storage shed in May 2014.
During his evidence in chief, Mr McNamara has told his NSW Supreme Court murder trial that it was Mr Rogerson who shot and killed the 20-year-old for the purpose of stealing drugs off him.
He said Mr Rogerson then threatened his life and the lives of his daughters if he didn't help to dispose of the body.
But while in custody he told his daughter Jessica that "we're completely innocent".
"We're both completely innocent, and you know, we'll be vindicated, and at the moment, we're, I'm an innocent person sitting in jail for no reason," he said to his daughter over the phone.
In another conversation that was played to a jury, Mr McNamara again refers to "we" being innocent.
"We didn't do anything. And they can't prove we did ... didn't do a thing. Didn't do a thing. I'm completely innocent you know," he said.
"There's three people in the world that know what happened and two, two of 'em are still here."
Mr McNamara shared hundreds of texts and met Mr Gao more than 20 times in the lead up to his death, claiming he was researching a book about Asian crime and gangs in Sydney.
"I just wanted to write a book, that was all," he told his daughter.
"There's no facts, they haven't got any facts that line up, " he said later.
Mr McNamara referred to "ice rage" in one conversation, and said the case against him is weak at best.
"It's crap. Got a, got an, an ice dealer off his head on drugs running around with a gun. It's a strong Crown case. They're liars," he said.
He also speaks about how he believes the police were "panicking".
"We've got some indication, we think, that the police are panicking ... we think they're panicking over the weakness of the case against us.
"It's a weak circumstantial case at best.
In another conversation he spoke of having nightmares.
"I'm having terrible dreams about this gun coming at me ... probably have a heart attack before, you, you know, I wake up," he said.
Jessica replied: "I'm so worried about you Dad."
"Oh don't worry about me. I'll be right, you know. But, but I'm just filthy, you know," Mr McNamara replied
"You protected your own life, that's not a crime," his daughter said.
"Yeah yeah. You're allowed to do that," he said.
