THE Nor-West Jets’ first grade team lost by two goals to ladder leaders Pennant Hills in AFL Sydney action at the weekend.
The division three game saw the Demons win 11.4-70 to 8.10-58, while the reserve grade team flogged Balmain 22.14-146 to 4.3-27.
Jets coach Casey Wenselowski said while the team was disappointed with the loss, there was plenty to be optimistic about in the future.
“There are a lot of positives to take out of it. We had the opportunity to win the game with the wind at our backs in the last quarter,” he said.
“I think there has been a step up in the team. The guys have a good feel and they've improved the way we play football. We can only improve from here, and it is only early on in the season too.”
Wenselowski said Mitchell Crowe and Lachlan Eldridge played good games in the mid-field.
The Jets hosts Sydney Uni at 12pm on Saturday in reserve grade and then host Balmain in first grade at 2.10pm at Bensons Lane.
