RICHMOND North Public School students and children from Community Kids North Richmond Early Education Centre joined together to commemorate the Anzac soldiers who fought to serve our country.
Richmond North Public School principal, Bradley Thurling, said the school commemorates Anzac Day every year with a special assembly.
“As part of the service the students run a large portion of the assembly, and towards the end of the ceremony representatives from each class take a wreath and place it down at the front,” said Mr Thurling.
This is the first time Community Kids North Richmond Early Education Centre has joined the School for the event.
Centre director, Megan Halford, said: “Anzac Day is very close to my heart so it is important to me, as a centre director, to see the service reach out to children, parents and families particularly as my husband has served overseas as well as my grandfather being a prisoner of war in WWII”.
Federal Member for Macquarie, Louise Markus, attended the ceremony.
