MACQUARIE Community College Hawkesbury classes will now take place at the local arm’s new residence, at the Hawkesbury Leisure and Learning Centre.
College CEO Theresa Collignon said she was thrilled that the College will now be more accessible to students.
“[It is] just a stone’s throw from the train station and shops with easy parking and disability access,” she said.
Located at 114 March Street, Richmond, the new premises will connect the Community College with the many services and clients of the Leisure and Learning Centre.
“There is a really great connection between what we can offer as a Community College and the central role the Leisure and Learning Centre aims to play in the Hawkesbury district as a community hub,” said Ms Collignon.
“I look forward to working with the team there, our terrific teachers and trainers, NGOs and businesses in the community to deliver affordable lifelong learning opportunities for the Community, in the community”.
The College had previously been located at Western Sydney University’s Hobartville campus.
Individuals interested in taking classes can choose from a range of leisure and self-improvement courses including digital photography, drawing and painting, sewing, yoga), as well as accredited, Government-subsidised Certificate and Diploma-level qualification courses in aged, home and community care, disability, and business administration.
The College also offers a series of introductory ‘taster’ courses as pathways into full qualifications, especially for people seeking to upskill, re-skill or re-enter the workforce.
