Bandit the Kelpie foiled an armed hold up of a stock feed business in Richmond on Saturday, scaring off the would be thieves who ran away empty handed.
Hawkesbury LAC Detectives have launched an investigation into the incident, which occurred around 8.30am on Saturday.
Two men entered the store and threatened a male employee with a knife and demanded money. Their demands were challenged by the man who said that he would let his six year old brown Kelpie, Bandit, loose to deal with the situation.
The ever loyal Bandit met the challenge which caused the offenders to turn and run off without obtaining any proceeds.
The first of the offenders is described as a Caucasian, about 180cm tall, skinny build with a gaunt face, aged in his 20's with black hair with grey streaks. His hair was described as long at the back. He was wearing a cream colour hoodie, dirty blue jeans, and dirty white joggers. He was described as having a strong body odour and a smell of alcohol.
The second offender is described as also a Caucasian of similar age and build, with brown hair, wearing a dark blue track suit top with a white stripe on the sleeve and dirty blue jeans. He also was described of having a strong body odour and a smell of alcohol.
It was reported to police that these offenders left the scene in a early 1980's model Commodore sedan in poor condition with yellow and black NSW number plates containing the letter X.
These men were armed with a large knife and if seen, do not approach but contact police immediately.
