RICHMOND High School students and teachers faced-off in a friendly staff-versus-student cricket match for Pink Stumps Day – a fundraiser in support of the McGrath Foundation.
Students wore pink in support of the McGrath Foundation colours and paid $5 for a sausage sandwich, drink and entry to the match, the proceeds of which went to the charity.
It was a very close match, but the teachers team took-out top honours on the day, with 60 runs and 6 wickets, compared to the student team’s 55 runs and 5 wickets.
The McGrath Foundation raises money to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia as well as raising awareness in young Australian women.
“Richmond High School is well known for its generous efforts in fundraising to support many causes including Jeans for Genes day and our position as the largest school fundraiser for sidsandkids in Australia,” said SRC coordinator, Lolita Garcia.
