They may have broken up six months ago and she is rumoured to be currently dating former One Directioner Zayn Malik, but that isn't stopping Alli Simpson from concocting a plan to get her brother Cody and his ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid back together.
The 17-year-old Gold Coast-born and LA-living singer, model and Radio Disney presenter opened up to Fairfax Media over a pulled pork bun at the ARIA Awards interlude in The Star, Sydney, on Thursday evening.
"I am trying [to get them back together]. I know he still loves Gigi," Alli told the publication, before adding: "They just honestly adore each other.
"They have been hanging out, but they are super friendly. They are each other's best friends. I think that when they see each other, it's really comfortable. They are both doing their own thing. They are both killing it, so we will see," said the starlet, who had just changed out of her red carpet look – an Alice McCall jumpsuit – and into a Carla Zampatti bright blue corset and suit pants.
Alli said Cody is having "a lot of fun being single" at the moment, while Gigi left an American Music Awards after-party on Sunday night with the bad boy ex 1D star. Just two weeks ago she split with another pop singer, Joe Jonas, after a five-month relationship.
"Gigi is like my older sister. I love her to death. We talk all of the time … We are always hanging out," Alli said of the Sports Illustrated beauty, but she has yet to get the details on the top model's latest story with Zayn.
"I'm not sure, I haven't been talking to her about that yet. I saw some stuff online … But everyone loves her, I'm not surprised. She's a babe. She will have every guy chasing after her, so I don't doubt it," said Alli, who boasts an impressive 1.6 million Instagram followers.
The teenager also revealed a case of Chinese whispers led to her pending "coffee date" with ARIA Song of the Year winner, Conrad Sewell, 27.
Before the awards show, Alli expressed in an interview that she would like to meet the fellow blonde crooner, known for his hit Start Again. Later in the same day, she heard reports that they were dating. When she caught up with Conrad on the night he relayed the romance rumours to her.
"He came up to me and said: 'Apparently we are having a drink later?'" Alli laughed.
But the wise-beyond-her-years teen had this comeback: "Well, first of all I am underage, so maybe we can get a coffee?"
Preferring Aussie boys, Alli said she is looking forward to sitting down with one of the big ARIA winners of the night.
"He's friends with my brother, so he's pretty friendly," she said.
While Alli would eventually love to return to her native Australia to live, right now she loves being a Cali girl and hanging out in the exclusive Beverly Hills clique that includes the likes of Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Gigi, Hailey Baldwin and Selena Gomez.
"We all hang out and go to dinner and stuff like that," she explains. "They have girls' nights and everyone is in their sweat pants with no makeup and [talk about] boys, friends the usual stuff. We are all normal."
But when asked if she would follow in Kim Kardashian's younger sister Kylie's footsteps and get any cosmetic procedures, like the 18-year-old's lip fillers, she said she is "too young."
"I know there are so many things to do to fix your insecurities but I don't think it fixes you on the inside, it only fixes you on the outside. I don't think anyone should change who they really are, if you are not happy with your lips, I think you should just be fine with that and find some inner confidence or inner peace.
"I would never get anything done."
Alli explains that she often turns to one of Taylor Swift's best friends, Gigi, for advice on body image as she "struggles" with it, but is happy in her own skin.
"I definitely struggle with that and Gigi has really, really helped me. She has taught me to just be confident in who I am and embrace the body that I have."
When asked why she thinks Kylie opted to have work done at such a young age, she said she thinks it might have been "an insecurity of hers."
But added: "I honestly think she looks beautiful and whatever makes her happy."
Alli flew back into town with momager Tina to present an award at the show and act as "official Twitter Tweejay" on the red carpet.
