THE body of a man was found in the Hawkesbury River following an extensive air and water search last night.
Emergency services were contacted following reports a man was seen to dive into the Hawkesbury River near Wilberforce Road at about 5.30pm yesterday, and not resurface.
Officers from Hawkesbury Local Area Command established a command post at the location with local police, State Emergency Service volunteers, PolAir and police divers searching the river and surrounds for the man.
About 11.10pm, police divers located the body of a 33-year-old man in the river south of the Windsor Bridge.
The man’s family has been notified and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
