HAWKESBURY state MP Dominic Perrottet marked White Ribbon Day by calling on all people to take action domestic violence.
‘‘Violence against family members and loved ones is a despicable crime and we must work together to end it,’’ Mr Perrottet said.
‘‘As a husband and as a father of young girls I believe men must play a positive role in breaking the cycle of violence.
‘‘I am calling on the Hawkesbury community to stand up, speak out, and take the White Ribbon Oath to never commit, excuse, or remain silent about violence against women and children.’’
He said preventing domestic and family violence was an important priority for the state government.
The government recently announced $60 million worth of extra police resources to combat domestic violence.
