Hawkesbury Council deferred a decision on whether to grant planning permission for a turf farm at Freemans Reach, until a site inspection had occurred.
The owner of the land along Reserve Road wants to live on the land and use it as a turf farm, although Council has heard from neighbours who opposed the development.
The original recommendation from Council was to refuse the development application for a turf farm, however, councillors voted to instead inspect the site before making a decision on whether to allow development.
Two neighbours, who spoke at last night’s Council meeting, said they were concerned about the pesticides, which would be used in the operation of the turf farm.
