COMMUNITY Kids North Richmond Early Education Centre will hold their first twilight market this Friday to support one of its students who has been doing it tough.
One of the centre’s children, Lisa, is lucky to be alive after she stopped breathing multiple times following surgery to have her her tonsils and adenoids removed at Westmead Children’s Hospital.
Centre manager Megan Halford said Lisa couldn’t return home without a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) ventilation machine to ensure her airways no longer became obstructed while sleeping.
Mrs Halford said they hope to raise the money for a CPAP machine through money raised at the twilight markets.
“Lisa’s family is currently hiring a machine but needs to raise the funds to purchase a CPAP machine in the near future,” Mrs Halford said.
“This cause plays a big part in all our hearts here at North Richmond, it is something that no person or family should have to go through in their life.
“We are asking the community to give a little, help a lot.”
The twilight markets will include face painting, sausage sizzle, and various stalls including crafts, candles, Nutrimetics and Tupperware.
The local fire brigade will also visit the centre on the night, which is sure to entertain the kids.
The event runs from 6pm to 9pm at 33 Riverview Street, North Richmond, with all proceeds going to the purchase of Lisa’s CPAP machine.
