Nothing is better than a bear hug, and Paris terror attack survivor Emma Parkinson will receive a very special one, all thanks to Hobart boy Campbell Remess.
The 11-year-old handmade several bears to send survivors of the Paris terror attacks, after hearing the devastating news.
"It made me upset that they'd done it again, [after] the Lindt cafe," Campbell said, speaking of the Sydney Siege that shocked the country last year.
A special 'Emma Comfort' bear and its friends would be precious cargo, travelling from Tasmania to Paris to spread a little love to the recovering Ms Parkinson and other survivors.
The Hobart teenager was shot as she escaped gunmen at Bataclan concert hall, where 86 people were killed.
The 19-year-old was released from hospital on Wednesday, and was recovering from surgery to a bullet wound on her thigh.
Campbell said he hoped the bears would help survivors of the attacks heal.
"They've got to make them smile," he said.
Mother Sonya Whittaker said she wasn't surprised her son wanted to do something to help the victims of the attacks.
"He doesn't understand why people would do this but his solution to this 'I've got to send them a smile'," Ms Whittaker said.
Campbell has made more than 400 bears for sick children in Tasmania, after a trip to the hospital with his mother inspired him to help others.
"I was taking flowers into [the hospital] on Christmas Eve and we went around handing flowers out and I said to Mum 'We should take toys for the kids' and Mum said 'I've already shopped for eight other people, it'll get too expensive' so I said 'I'll make them then'."
Bass Liberal MHR Andrew Nikolic will give the bears to Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, who will send them to Paris next week.
