BRINGING up babies and toddlers can often lead to mums becoming frazzled, stressed and lonely, especially if they don’t have help. LINCS is a Hawkesbury program where volunteers visit mum or other carers at home.
Visits are once a week for two hours, where volunteers look after the children allowing mum to get other things done around the home, while providing company as well.
The demand for LINCS volunteers is such that they are always needing more volunteers, and if you’ve considered it before, now is the time to look again.
The LINCS volunteer scheme, now run from St John of God at North Richmond, is calling for volunteers for its 2015 training program. If you’ve got a couple of hours spare each week, enjoy working with children and would like to learn how to bring joy and relief to hardworking mums, call LINCS co-ordinator Katrine Cassese on 4570 6291.
