HAWKESBURY Race Club president Bryan Fletcher believes three-year-old gelding Mandalong Royal is a hot tip for the class 1 handicap at the club on July 2.
Warwick Farm trainer Gary Nickson's last start winner Mandalong Royal looks a strong chance to repeat its previous performance at the Clarendon Racecourse.
It will be ridden by jockey Jeff Penza, who last month won the Hawkesbury Gold Cup.
Penza rates the gelding highly after its strong win at Wyong last month.

Hawkesbury trained: Helen Royale (Scott Singleton) ran 10th from 11th in its only race start; Adriatic Jewel (Mitch Newman) had three consecutive 2nd places to start 2015 and lowest finish is 5th this year.

Hawkesbury trained: Since March Tribe (Malcolm Johnston) has not finished lower than third, and has four second placed finishes; World Music (Garry White) will have its first run after three trials; Ally One (Scott Singleton) has finishes of 6th and 7th in 2015; Revionist (Nick Mitchell) ran dead last in its last start which was at Hawkesbury.

Hawkesbury trained: Garn Star (Bronwyn Mackie) was dead last in only career start; Kurmond Road (Garry Frazer) will be its debut race but has won both of its trials; World Music (Garry White) also accepted in this race, may be a scratching from one of both races; Belridge (Nick Mitchell) has run dead last in only start; Silver Spun (Tommy Wong) had finishes of 2nd, 2nd and 3rd at start of the year, but has since run 10th of 14 and 8th of 9 in May and June.
