The President of the Rebels Windsor Chapter, 35-year-old John Weston, has been arrested and charged with the murder of Laurie Starling, 29, on the Central Coast in July last year.
Mr Starling was shot dead as he sat in his ute outside his West Gosford car restoration business, Chop Shop, about 7.45pm on Thursday, July 24.
He was shot several times in the stomach and bled to death as he sat in the driver’s seat.
CCTV captured a silver or grey Toyota Corolla hatchback fleeing the scene with three men inside who police believe were involved in the murder.
Detectives from State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad and Brisbane Water Local Area Command formed Strike Force Zeitz to investigate the death.
As a result, Weston was arrested at his home in Kingswood and taken to St Marys Police Station on Friday.
A number of items were seized from his home and officers also seized a number of other items of interest during a search warrant at a property in Quakers Hill.
The operation follows the arrest of 29-year-old Timothy Steven Rolfe at a property in South Windsor on Thursday, April 23 who was charged with murder, sell firearm and possess ammunition without authority.
His matters remain before the courts.
Police believed it was Mr Weston who fired the bullet.
An order for brief services was scheduled for July 31 and Weston will appear before Penrith Local Court via Audio Visual Link on August 14 for reply.
