Hawkesbury Art Fair opens this Friday night, May 29 at 6pm at Hawkesbury Regional Gallery.
Traditional and contemporary artists, designers, crafters and jewellers living and working in the Hawkesbury have all come together to create a fabulous exhibition. The bar opens 6pm, speeches and talks 6.30pm.
Organisations represented at the fair include Hawkesbury Camera Club, Macquarie Towns Arts Society, Hawkesbury Community Artists, The Ferry Artists, Hawkesbury Printmakers, Hawkesbury Artists & Artisans Trail, and Piggery Lane Studios & Gallery.
Some of the Hawkesbury’s best-known artists will also have work for sale, including Mellissa Read-Devine, James Fletcher and Barbara Campbell-Allen and some will offer site visits. Book all events on 4560 4441.
WOODFIRE CERAMICS STUDIO VISIT
Saturday, May 30 from 10.30am-12pm you can join ceramic artist Barbara Campbell-Allen at her North Richmond property with two wood fire kilns, for a tour and artist’s talk. Morning tea will be provided.$10 per person- bookings essential as places are limited. Please wear suitable clothing and closed, flat shoes.
MASTERCLASS WITH CHERRY HOOD
Sunday, May 31 from 10am-4pm you can meet Archibald winner,Cherry Hood, and learn her unique approach to portrait painting using watercolours. A materials list and venue directions will be supplied at time of booking. Cost is $80 for general public, $70 for gallery members. BYO Lunch. GLASS STUDIO VISITS
On Tuesday and Wednesday, June 9- 0 June from 10.30-12noon and 1pm- 2.30pm you can visit the studio of glass artist James Fletcher, and witness the mesmerizing process of glass art in production. Meet at the gallery and then self-drive to McGraths Hill. If you need transport advise so when booking. Cost is $10 for public or $5 for gallery members. LIFE DRAWING
Wednesdays June 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 5.30-7.30pm. The human figure is one of the most enduring themes in visual art. In this series of four sessions, you will develop observational skills and explore life drawing techniques with a range of media. Cost is $25 per session which includes easel, drawing materials, tutor and life model. Bookings essential.
