Motorist anger over outrageous traffic jams caused by the upgrade of the eastern side of the bridge has prompted a change in the roadworks schedule.
From next Tuesday, eastbound traffic coming off the bridge will no longer be able to turn right into Old Kurrajong Road (which becomes Yarramundi Lane). That night, the RMS will also start night roadworks in an effort to get the work finished sooner.
The night work will be carried out between 8pm and 5am from Sunday to Friday for about nine months.
However work will continue in the daytime as well, between 7am and 6pm during the week and 8am and 1pm on Saturdays.
The RMS said a temporary 60km/h reduced speed limit, lane closures and traffic control will be in place during the work.
"Motorists are advised to follow all signs, plan their journey and allow extra travel time as some short delays may be experienced," a spokesperson said.
